Bill Lewis was 71 years old, nearly out of money and desperately in need of income in order to live. In considering his options he decided to risk everything, and by cashing in on some personal belongings, bootstrap himself with the cash that would generate while learning to paint well enough to produce income. During the next five years he spent 8 months painting in Mexico, 4 months each summer for three years in a row painting in France, followed by two full summers in Italy. During that 5 year period, the reader is included in the many adventures and misadventures that happen along the way to eventual success. From start to finish, a sense of humor is always close at hand and that, along with an easy style of writing, makes this book about learning to paint at a late age a page-turner. A must for all those interested in painting
