'Here and There' - David R. Amies' memoir is an account of his medical life starting with his beginnings in Norwich, on to undergraduate years at the London Hospital in London's East End and to medical service in Northern Nigeria. Following that were several years of his life in the Medical Branch of the Royal Air Force, private practice in Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada, hospital duties in the Northern Territory, Australia, and a position with the University of New South Wales in Coffs Harbour, and finally retiring in Lethbridge, Alberta. Along the way, the author tried his hand at general medical practice, specialist practice as an ophthalmologist and lastly as a university teacher of medical undergraduates.
