Rather than argue the details of a bill that defies understanding, the book allows you to turn the tables on the system by forcing a hospital to PROVE it even has a right to bill you, given the oh-so-clear billing restrictions under which they are required to operate. Restrictions that an in-network hospital is contractually prohibited from discussing let alone disclosing to enforce a bill. In short. the book presents the hospital with a real Catch-22. Either void your bill, or provide the legally required information and risk their entire billing system.
