Reseña del libro "Learning To Depend On God: Timeless Lessons From God's Word (en Inglés)"
If we want to please God, we must learn to depend on Him. In fact, learning how to depend on God is one of the most important things a Christian should know. Depending on God means acknowledging that God is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Since God is our creator, He is the only one who can supply the strength we need to follow Him. As God's creation, we will always find that reliance on ourselves is never enough. As humans we are "finite", this means we have limits and weaknesses that cannot be overcome on our own. However, God is "infinite". As our Creator, He knows everything about us and He has no weaknesses or limits. The first step to depending on God is acknowledging that we are finite and cannot make it on our own. God hates "self-dependence" and He honors our dependence upon Him. We cannot depend on God without faith, because, unless we have faith in God's promises, there is nothing to depend on. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:1-3 God honors faith, and without it, we cannot please God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
