Reseña del libro "Murder Comes South (en Inglés)"

On a cold, rainy March day, back in 1970, jealousy reared its ugly head in a little-known town called Stateline. It's a considerably run down community in rural Macon County, Alabama that lies about two miles west of the quaint little town of Weldon, located along the Alabama-Mississippi State Line. Willie Stringer was no stranger to violence- he had a temper that could suddenly explode at the drop of a pin and many a time he'd been locked up for brawling at local juke joints. However, Willie had always been quite the charmer with the ladies and was known as a Romeo around town. However, the bad thing about Willie's philandering was that he tended to be more attracted to women whose finger was already adorned with the golden band of another man. A good-looking scoundrel, Willie never lacked for feminine companionship; most Friday and Saturday nights, when he was not out of town hauling plants for the local nurseries, he'd be out on the town, alone, having left his lovely bride sitting home alone. You could usually find him out on the dance floor of the Oasis, the Cimarron or the local Am-Vets Club; these were his favorite beer joints. He would be out on the dance-floor, rubbing bellies to the tunes of Otis Redding, Percy Sledge or some twangy country song with his current fling or some barfly he had picked up that night. Idle gossip abounds in small towns like Weldon and Stateline and these two were no exception. On the surface, both were quaint little towns whose history dated back several hundred years, but beneath the surface, there was always trouble brewing on the back streets and in the back rooms and bedrooms of the communities. Lust, money, and greed become a volatile mixture, especially when alcohol, hate, and betrayal are involved. In the spring of 1970, Willie's philandering ways caught up to him, which is usually what happens. The backlash it caused led to a whole mess of troubles and repercussions. This, in turn, caused a chain reaction of violence, heartbreak, and loss that spread across half of the county, even over into the next state! Stateline and Weldon exploded into the headlines when tempers erupted on those back streets of these two small southern towns, ending in violent murder, cover-ups, and attempted murder! When Willie failed to come home after one of the worst drunks his family had ever witnessed, his sister Hannah Stringer Swift and his wife Lacey set out to discover what had become of the happy-go-lucky Willie. What they encountered led them down a dangerous path of destruction and into a boiling pot of ill-fated woes. Even forty years later, there are still doubts in many folk's minds as to whether the whole truth and nothing but the truth was ever uncovered...
