This mystery novel is about Ken Jennings who is in a dead end job with no way out. He is pondering what to do when he receives a mysterious letter that he has inherited a fifty room mansion and almost a million dollars from an uncle. Ken quits his job and moves to collect his inheritance. Once there, he learns that only the west end of the mansion is livable and the great house of the mansion must be torn down before it collapses onto the west end. Worse yet, all of the money from the inheritance will be needed for taxes and to have the mansion repaired. Ken meets the love of his life, gets a job and works out what to do with the mansion. All is going well, and then someone tries to kill him. Who is the person of mystery? Is it someone from his past life who is holding a grudge? Is it his father-in-law that didn't want him to marrying his daughter? Is it his wife? Is it someone who resents him working in the law office? The mystery remains to be solved.
