Start-up ecosystems have sprung up all over the world, but the original is still number one, in terms of access to talent and capital. Silicon Valley has developed its own culture that emphasizes openness and break-through innovation and inspires start-up scenes around the world. The book is divided into four overarching sections. The first section focuses on the ecosystem on which a successful start-up is based. Silicon Valley has been recognized as the flagship-ecosystem - not only for co-location of large and high-profile technology companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook, but also for the clustering of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, research institutes, and support infrastructure. In the second section, you will learn about the business, financial and legal foundation that needs to be established when setting up a start-up. In the third part we discuss mega growth mega market opportunities at hand: Cybersecurity, nanotechnology, biosensors, printed sensors, Block chain, Wave energy, Cannabis etc. The fourth and final part you will dive into the success stories of well-known companies, as well as start-ups that have the potential to become the next Unicorns.
