PICK-A-DILLY PAPERS is a series of 43 worksheets developed to create interest and at the same time spark enthusiasm for basic addition. However, you will find a fascinating different way the worksheets have been designed. Each worksheet has a geometric design pattern that plays an important part in the overall assignment. Each geometric shape contains two important elements ...(1) a number or a series of numbers and (2) various shapes, letters, or pictures of various insects. The shapes, letters and pictures of insects are used to complete the equations assigned to the worksheet. Many of the shapes and objects used in the geometric designs have been turned and/or rotated to different positions which add another degree of difficulty and need for concentration. Students soon become aware of the importance of the approach when they see the need for total concentration in order to complete the assignments with a degree of success.
