The effects of promiscuity have a devastating effect on both the human soul and the human spirit, causing an inability to remain in a committed relationship as well as bringing unwanted curses into unsuspecting lives. Many of the root causes behind failed relationships can be linked directly to failure to heed the warnings of the Bible against sexual promiscuity. Apart from the very real threat of disease such as HIV, the emotional and mental misery ensuing from multiple broken relationships is evident in the statistics concerning divorce, depression, anxiety and suicide.
