Karl is a soldier of the nibirian civil engineering on the way home. The geoclimatic upheavals that are increasingly affecting Nibiru, his homeland, due to the imminent destruction of a second planet of the solar system, Tiamat, have ended up ravaging many of the road infrastructures of the area he is going through.
