Reseña del libro "The Christian and Hell: The Biblical Truth about the Everlasting Fire (en Inglés)"

The chapters in this book were written over several years to address vital biblical truths regarding hell. I specifically wrote it to convince people that hell is forever; that universalism is a lie; and that Rob Bell is deceiving thousands of believers and non-believers with his teachings in the disastrous book, Love Wins. In the first chapter, we wrestle with the startling truth that more than 150,000 people go to hell every day. Over one million go there every week! In this chapter, we examine carefully the words "perish," "perishing," and "perdition." These words appear frequently throughout the New Testament. What did Jesus mean that God is able "to destroy both soul and body in hell?" What is the underlying Greek word when Jesus mentions those who are "lost?" What is Jesus really saying about "lost sheep?" In the second chapter, we go to the Book of Revelation and study "the lake of fire." What is it? Who goes there? Why is everyone "cast" or "thrown" into this fearful lake that is burning with fire? Next, in one of the most important truths to establish about hell, we answer the question of its eternal nature. Is hell forever? Is it just temporary? When it comes to hell, does "eternal" really mean "everlasting," or does it mean something else? What exactly does universalism teach? Is it biblical? Who has taught and who is teaching this doctrine? And what verses do universalists use to support their beliefs? In the chapter on Hell Yes, Bell No, we thoroughly evaluate Rob Bell's book, Love Wins. How should a Christian response to his claims that everyone is going to heaven? Is he right that all who ever lived will be with God forever? Is this true? We will review the teachings of Jesus to see that not everyone gets saved. God is the creator of all, but He's not the father of all. The Bible does speak of the devil being a father, and many people were described as "children of the devil" in the New Testament. The devil has his children that he has planted in this world and they are known as "tares" and "sons of the wicked one." Jesus told some Jews that "you are of your father the devil;" Paul called Elymas, "You son of the devil;" the apostle John wrote in his first epistle that you can tell the difference between "the children of God and the children of the devil." Not everyone belongs to God. Not everyone is a child of God. One of the most vivid pictures of hell is found in the Lord's teaching in Luke 16:19-31. This story is commonly known as "The Rich Man in Hell." In Chapter 5, we cover these thirteen verses in much detail. This verse by verse study gives powerful insights into hell's nature and hell's people. In our last chapter, we define the terms Tartarus, Hades, Sheol, and Gehenna. Why does the Bible use three different Greek words to describe hell in the New Testament? We also explain some of the most popular false beliefs about hell including annihilationism, purgatory, and post mortem conversion.
