This novel of historical fiction dips into the inkwell of magical realism in an attempt to explain the scarred humanity of Gehazi to a modern world. Throughout his successes and failures, when we see Gehazi sometimes we see ourselves. Gehazi's eyes were witness to devastating violence and powerful political works, but just as importantly, they saw his own undoing and, we hope, his redemption.
