Eveleen Glenrowan is the girl with the ivy tattoo. Having been thrown out of her tattoo artist father's apartment when he takes a new lover, Eveleen lands a full time job at The Cedars Funeral Home while still working part time as a body piercer at her father's tattoo parlor. She's moved into the apartment above the funeral home's livery garage. When Jack Glenrowan is killed while riding his motorcycle, The Cedars makes itself available for the funeral, although Eveleen can't afford it. However, she's caught the eye of the funeral home's embalmer, Adrian Frey-Dayne, who has become the silent major shareholder of the business. While co-owner Madelaine Mitchell wants the girl fired, Adrian feels Eveleen is where she belongs. After all, her father tattooed him when he was twenty-two years old, and there is something surprising in that tattoo image that bonds Adrian and Eveleen at a critical turning point in her life.
