The next day, after the sisters journey to the sea to find clams to eat, they meet a friendly whale who offers to guide them home. But when the way becomes rough, he gives them directions and bids them farewell. After spending another night in the wilderness where the princesses must huddle together for warmth and hide from the dangerous animals prowling nearby, they climb to the top of a mountain where they encounter an eagle. Will he be able to show them the way home?
